Trail Description
Part of the Blue Hills Reservation, this red dot trail loops around Eliot Tower on Blue Hill. The trail begins at the Trailside Museum and is uphill the majority of the time. Navigating through jetting rocks and snaking valleys, the trail empties out on the peak of Blue Hill where Eliot Tower is located. Eliot Tower is an observation tower providing you with a breath taking view of the Boston skyline as well as the rolling hills surrounding the area. Located directly behind the tower is a stone bridge leading to another trail which provides access to a weather observatory. This trail overlaps and intersects the skyline (blue) and green trails as well as smaller, narrow trails meaning there are endless routes you can take on your journey. This trail is very popular due to Eliot Tower so you can expect to pass a fellow hiker or two on your adventure. Easy-to-find, park beside Blue Hills Reservation Trailside Museum.
