Trail Description
An easy place to hike and enjoy the outdoors is Beaver River Nature Preserve which is managed by The Nature Conservancy. This easy and secluded hike is only about a mile and takes you to a large lake inhabited by endangered insects and other wildlife. There are also a lot of different plant species and visitors should be respectful and careful not to step on them. Featuring multiple trails, the most popular is the well-marked yellow trail which loops around the area. Off the southeast corner is second trail running down an old cart path leading to Beaver River. A relatively easy hour drive from Providence and even closer to Connecticut, Beaver River Nature Preserve is an ideal getaway from the city.
